Visiting Mälmo

Malmö is a city located in Sweden. When my family and I travelled to Copenhagen, the capital city of Denmark last year, we spontaneously decided to make an additional trip to Malmö. We only spent a few hours in the city.

Hello traveller,

According to one of the websites I read, Malmö is one of the major cities in Sweden. After Stockholm and Gothenburg, Malmö is the third largest city.

As a big city, I saw it looks like a developed city in general. It is similar with other big city in european countries. There are tall buildings with modern architecture side by side with old buildings and historical buildings.

These modern buildings that have unique architecture are interesting to visit for those who love architecture. Even I, who is not familiar with architecture, was amazed by the unique shapes of these buildings. Although I didn’t have time to visit all the unique buildings there, there were buildings that looked cool from afar and made me chuckle.

Visiting Malmö

When we were there, it was Sunday. The city was quiet and calm. Walking in the city in this situation is quite comfortable with wide sidewalks.

That day as we walked around the city, the sun was shining. Although it was windy, typical of a city located close to the sea, the weather was quite pleasant and comfortable for walking around. Actually, when we arrived at the station and decided to have lunch there, the weather suddenly changed. It got dark outside and suddenly started raining quite heavily. Thankfully after that the sun was shining.

Oresund Bridge

Malmö is located on the seafront and is close to Copenhagen, Denmark. The two cities are connected by a very famous bridge, the Oresund Bridge. With this bridge, Denmark and Sweden are connected by land transport. So, from Copenhagen we can take a car, bus or train to reach this city.

This bridge is very long. When crossing this bridge, I was a little worried because the only thing I could see on either side was sea water. It felt like a long time until the train we were travelling on finally touched the Swedish mainland.

If you look through the Google site, this bridge looks beautiful. When passing through this bridge, I could not enjoy this beauty. All I could see were the poles passing quickly because the train was moving quickly.

My family and I have been able to enjoy one of the benefits of this bridge. We were able to cross the border, visit Sweden as well during our last holiday to Copenhagen.

Due to the limited time we didn’t have time to visit all intersting objects. We chose to prioritise. So, if we still had time, we visited them. If we didn’t have time, it was okay.

Moreover, at that time my condition was still young pregnant. So we didn’t push ourselves too much to explore every corner of Malmö.

Happy travelling,

Amelia
