Our Hotel in Utrecht

I was surprised when I saw the hotel price in Utrecht. I know that hotel rooms in most cities of the Netherlands are more expensive than in Germany. But seeing the price after the pandemic has increased so high was surprised me. Luckily, my husband could find a good hotel in Utrecht that offered a reasonable price.

I realize that the price for everything after the COVID-19 pandemic has increased. Travelling on a tight budget after the pandemic is a little hard in my experience.

Looking at the transportation price made me deep breathing. Searching for good accommodation which is a family-friendly hotel, has a good location, and offers reasonable price is not easy.

When we decided to go to Utrecht for a short holiday last year, it was actually not so easy to find everything within our budget. However, for some reason, we had to go. So, as a consequence, we needed to find travelling-related components that would cost us as little as possible but still comfortable.

Hotel Holland Lodge in Utrecht

My husband was lucky to get a good price for staying in the hotel Holland Lodge, Utrecht. Before he booked this hotel for our two-night stay, he had searched for days but could not find a good hotel within our budget.

I was surprised as he said that he could find a room for us for about 500 Euros. I tried to search hotels in Utrecht too before he took over the task but could not find any hotels that offered this price. At the time I looked for a room, the price was mostly above 700 Euros for a two-night stay.

Luckily, he found it and booked before the price changed. I could not say no to this price because this was the lowest price he could find. The location of the hotel is also not far away from the central of Utrecht, so, why not?

The hotel is located in the northwest part of Utrecht. The distance from Utrecht central station is only 10 minutes by car and 18 minutes by public transportation.

The hotel offers free WiFi and free parking. Two facilities that we found important. The parking lots are located in front of the hotel. Although the number of parking spaces is limited, my husband could still find a good space to park the car.

The Room

My husband booked the family room. We liked the room because it was spacious and the family room consisted of two floors.

The first floor was where the door of the room was located. On this floor, there was the bathroom, toilet, open kitchen, small dining table, and beds. The corridor that connected the door and the open room was enough space for us to put our belongings. We brought luggage and a stroller.

The kitchen was a benefit for us since we have baby. We could wash the bottle and prepare the milk properly.

Then, there were stairs to go down. On the lower level, there were other beds. I forget how many beds there were but I remembered that there were more than two beds. There was also quite a large space there to put luggage.

Our room was located on the roadside. However, we did not hear any noise. We knew there were cars, and people passing by the hotel but the noise was not loud and disturbing. We found it good.

There were only four of us. So, the room was more than enough for us. We did not often get experiences like this during our holiday in European Countries.

Overall, we had a good experience during our stay. The staff who served us when we arrived and checked out were also kind and friendly. My husband and I recommend this hotel to stay with our children when visiting Utrecht.
