Tivoli Copenhagen is a famous theme park in Copenhagen and having fun in this park will be a nice experience. Not only children can enjoy the park, but adults can also have fun in one of the best theme park in the world.
Hello traveller,
Have you heard about Tivoli?
Do you know that Tivoli is the eighth best theme park in the world?
Its existence as a big and famous playground in the capital city of a developed European country is interesting. Located in Copenhagen, Tivoli is a historical theme park located in the city centre. How central the location is, was also a question before I saw it myself.
The Location of Tivoli
If you asked how central the location of this famous park in Copenhagen is, I would like to provide an illustration for you. Imagine that you arrive in the Copenhagen Central Station. Then, go ahead to the main exit of the station. Tivoli is located just right there, in front of the exit gate.
We can see the game attractions inside the Tivoli complex from the outside. It is just like an open invitation to visit the playground immediately. The playground is big even though not as big as Dufan or Disneyland. However, it still holds the title of one of the most popular theme parks in the world.
Whenever I visit Copenhagen, interestingly, I never see traffic jams due to this theme park. The queue for the entrance gate as well as the ticket box did not disturb the pedestrians or the traffic around it.
Tickets
Before buying tickets, you should pay close attention to the type of ticket to be purchased. Don’t buy the wrong ticket because there are tickets that are only for entering Tivoli only. For the attractions, you should buy another ticket at the counter of each attraction. There is a ticket pass that can be used for all attractions and also includes the entrance ticket.
For children under the age of three, there is no admission fee for Tivoli. For children under the age of one, there is also no need to purchase a ticket for permitted attractions.
As I explained earlier, there are several types of tickets sold by Tivoli. If you buy an entrance ticket only, visitors aged from eight years old are charged 155 Kron currently equivalent to 21 Euros. For ages 3-7 years old pay an entrance ticket of around 9-10 Euros.
The next ticket type is the Ride Pass, which is a kind of pass that is valid for all rides in Tivoli. This ticket includes a visit to the Tivoli Aquarium. If you buy the plus one, you will get other bonuses. For younger children, there is a special pass that is valid for smaller attractions. Ticket prices range between 23-40 Euros.
The last type of ticket is the all-in ticket. This means that this ticket includes an entrance ticket and a pass for the attractions inside Tivoli. The price ranges from 45-60 Euros. In local currency, the equivalent is 339 Kron (3-7 years old ticket) or 439 Kron (from 8 years old).
Having Fun in Tivoli Copenhagen
From the information I obtained on Tivoli’s official website, there are more than 15 rides that visitors can enjoy. Since I’ve never been inside, I can’t objectively judge which attractions are the most interesting and fun. However, from outside the park, I can see several rides such as roller coasters, Ferris wheels, and high towers.
When I went there in 2022, it was in October. The park was already decorated for Halloween occasion. I remember reading one of the blogs that told me that at certain times the decorations in the park adjust to what is being celebrated at that time. The decorations were really full of totality and super cool. Again, it’s a shame that I couldn’t witness these decorations in person.
As one of the oldest theme parks in the world, I think Tivoli deserves a thumbs up because it can still survive and is visited by many local people and tourists from outside Copenhagen. The management can maintain the rides and provide exciting shows. I read that the food in the restaurants is oke.
The attractions are interesting. The atmosphere offered there is fun, happy and exciting. While eating and drinking at the restaurants, the visitor can enjoy the view and the atmosphere of the theme park.
Exciting, isn’t it?
On Fridays, there is usually a music concert. There are other tickets to buy, if you want to attend this event.
Hopefully, I can come back to Copenhagen again someday and have a chance to visit this famous theme park with my children.
Happy travelling,
Amelia
